Despite international crude oil hovering above $110 per barrels, the <a href="https://www.news18.com/news/business/petrol-diesel-prices-drop-after-excise-duty-cut-see-fuel-rates-in-delhi-mumbai-other-cities-5394889.html">petrol and diesel prices</a> at local pumps continue to remain unchanged for the 29th day. The price of petrol stood at Rs 96.72 per litre in Delhi and Rs 111.35 per litre in Mumbai, while diesel was retailing at Rs 89.62 per litre in Delhi and Rs 97.28 per litre in Mumbai.
The prices were last changed after central government on May 21 had announced to cut excise duty cut by Rs 8 per litre on petrol and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.
In Kolkata, petrol was retailing at Rs 106.03 per litre after the excise duty cut, while the price of diesel now stands at Rs 92.76 per litre. Petrol in Chennai was being sold at Rs 102.63 per litre on Sunday and diesel at Rs 94.24 a litre.
In other parts of the country, the petrol price in Bhopal on Sunday was Rs 108.65 per litre and diesel was at Rs 93.90 per litre. In Hyderabad, petrol was selling at Rs 109.66 per litre, while diesel stood at Rs 97.82 per litre. In Bengaluru, the price of petrol stood at Rs 101.94 per litre and diesel at Rs 87.89 per litre, according to the latest notification by oil marketing companies.

In Gandhinagar, the price of petrol stood at Rs 96.63 per litre and diesel at Rs 92.38 per litre. In Guwahati, the per-litre petrol price was Rs 96.01 and diesel at Rs 83.94. In Lucknow, petrol was selling at Rs 96.57 per litre and diesel at Rs 89.76 per litre. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol was at Rs 107.71 per litre and diesel at Rs 96.52 per litre.
Brent futures on Friday fell $6.69, or 5.6 per cent, to settle at $113.12 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell $8.03, or 6.8 per cent, to settle at $109.56.
Petrol and diesel prices at local fuel pumps are linked to the international crude oil prices and changes are supposed to be aligned accordingly on a daily basis. However, the oil marketing companies, like BPCL, HPCL and IndianOil, are moderating the retail fuel prices since November 2021, when five states (including Uttar Pradesh) went to the polls. The retail prices of petrol and diesel were also on hold between November 2021 and March 22, 2022, (after the poll results were declared).

<a href="https://www.news18.com/news/business/savings-and-investments/sovereign-gold-bonds-subscription-dates-tenure-interest-price-know-full-details-5390605.html">Sovereign Gold Bonds</a> (SGBs), which will be issued by the Reserve Bank of <a href="https://www.news18.com/india/">India</a> on behalf of the government, are opening for public subscription on Monday (June 20) and will remain open till Friday (June 24). This is the first tranche of the SGB scheme for the financial year 2022-23. The second tranche will be opened during August 22-August 26. Here&rsquo;re the details of the scheme for investors:
Eligibility: The Sovereign Gold Bonds will be restricted for sale to resident individuals, Hindu Undivided Families (HUFs), Trusts, Universities and Charitable Institutions.
Issue Price: The price has been fixed at Rs 5,091 per gram. It is the simple average of the three-day closing price of 999 purity gold, published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Limited (IBJA). The three days&nbsp;were the&nbsp;last three working days of the week preceding the subscription period (June 15, 16 and 17). A discount of Rs 50 per gram will be given to the investors who subscribe online and pay through the digital mode.

Date of Issuance:&nbsp;The bonds will be issued on June 28.

How To Buy: The bonds will be sold through commercial banks, Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL), Clearing Corporation of India Limited (CCIL), designated post offices (as may be notified), National Stock Exchange and BSE, either directly or through agents.
Payment Option: Payment for the SGBs will be through cash payment (up to a maximum of Rs 20,000) or demand draft or cheque or electronic banking.
Tenure: The tenure of the SGB will be for a period of eight years with an option of premature redemption after fifth year to be exercised on the date on which interest is payable.
Interest Rate: The investors will be compensated at a fixed rate of 2.50 percent per annum payable semi-annually on the nominal value.
Minimum &amp; Maximum Size: Minimum permissible investment will be one gram of gold, while the maximum limit of subscription shall be 4 kg for individual, 4 kg for HUF and 20 kg for trusts and similar entities per fiscal year (April-March) notified by the government from time to time. A self-declaration to this effect will be obtained. The annual ceiling will include SGBs subscribed under different tranches, and those purchased from the secondary market, during the fiscal year.
Can SGBs Be Used As Collateral for Loans? Yes, the SGBs can be used as collateral for loans. The loan-to-value (LTV) ratio is to be set equal to ordinary gold loan mandated by the Reserve Bank from time to time.
Can It Be Traded? Yes, the sovereign gold bonds will be eligible for trading.
Tax Treatment: The interest on SGBs will be taxable as per the provision of the Income Tax Act, 1961, (43 of 1961). The capital gains tax arising on redemption of SGB to an individual is exempted. The indexation benefits will be provided for long-term capital gains arising to any person on transfer of the SGB.

According to a statement from <a href="https://www.news18.com/news/india/industrialist-adani-lauds-adityanath-govts-ability-to-make-quick-decisions-announces-rs-70000-cr-investment-in-up-5304049.html">Adani</a> Wilmar, the maximum retail price (MRP) of Fortune refined Sunflower oil&rsquo;s 1-litre pack has been decreased to Rs 210 from Rs 220. The MRP of Fortune Soyabean and Fortune Kachi Ghani (mustard oil) 1-litre packs has been reduced to Rs 195 from Rs 205.
Stocks with revised prices will be available on the market soon, according to a report. This drop in oil prices follows the central government&rsquo;s decision to lower import levies on edible oils, making them more affordable, the report added.
&ldquo;We are passing on the benefit of the reduced cost to our customers, who can now expect purest edible oils made with the highest safety and quality standards, which are also light on their pockets. We are confident the lower prices will also boost demand," Adani Wilmar MD and CEO, Angshu Mallick said.
Adani Wilmar stock fell up to 5 per cent to Rs 553.30 against the previous close of Rs 582.40 in the previous session. Adani Wilmar stock trades higher than 100-day and 200-day moving averages but lower than 5-day, 20-day and 50-day moving averages. In a month, the stock has lost 20.05 per cent. A total of 1.18 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 6.59 crore on BSE. The market cap of the firm fell to Rs 72,203 crore on BSE.
