Britain’s FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 rose on Friday and headed for consecutive weekly gains as retreating crude prices improved risk appetite. Banks and miners led, with HSBC, Lloyds, Standard Chartered and precious-metal miners advancing, while Shell and BP fell. British consumer confidence also reached a more than two-year high, according to GfK, as households grew more optimistic about their finances. Investors continued to weigh possible US-Iran truce hopes against the risk of Houthi attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure.
