RecDek and Hiway announced The Drive-In, a transaction-to-video streaming service designed to give independent filmmakers direct control over their work. Launching October 17 during the London Film Festival, it will let producers set prices, retain intellectual property and first-sale revenue, and remove territorial rights sold elsewhere. Films will stream from filmmakers’ libraries without being re-uploaded. The platform is positioned as a year-round home for independent movies that struggle to secure conventional distribution.
