Scottish Premiership attendances topped four million for the first time, with average gates of 17,903, up 3%, as Celtic defended their title on a dramatic final day against Hearts. Only six European countries drew bigger overall crowds, but adjusted for population Scotland leads the continent with close to 20 spectators per 1,000 residents, nearly double Norway. Celtic were the only club outside Europe's big five leagues to pass one million home crowds.
