The FDA released executive summaries for two outbreak investigations involving Salmonella and Listeria, while noting that sources for the pathogens had not been identified. One investigation concerns recalled broccoli sprouts from Evergreen Fresh Sprouts. Thirty-two people in six states were reported infected with the outbreak strain, and nearly all of 27 interviewed patients said they had eaten sprouts or microgreens. The report also distinguishes that outbreak from a separate multi-bacteria investigation tied to alfalfa sprouts.
