Chinese exporters reported a surprise jump in US-bound orders ahead of the Trump-Xi summit in Washington, according to the China Beige Book, which surveyed 1,295 companies between Sept. 1 and 22. Its US orders gauge rose to 13 in September from 3 in August and negative 12 a year earlier. Overall domestic and export orders still trail last year.
