Celldex Therapeutics said barzolvolimab met the primary and secondary goals of two late-stage trials involving 1,939 patients with a chronic skin disease marked by itching and hives. At 12 weeks, both tested doses significantly reduced disease activity versus placebo. Complete response, meaning no itching or hives, occurred in roughly 42% to 46% of treated patients compared with about 9% to 13% receiving placebo. Benefits persisted or improved through week 24, and Celldex plans to submit a marketing application.
